 First Floor


N1-1
Window N1-1, located on the first floor stairway, features the text of J. Dunbar Hylton's poem, "My Jersey Girl" which inspired many of the themes in the station the artwork. A photograph of Hylton is featured in the lower panel. The colorful "Transit Rabbit" first made an appearance in the artwork of Lindenwold Station and is a motif of the artist's invention.  Look for the "key" in Lindenwold Station for a message from the artist.


N1-2
Window N1-2, located in the first floor elevator shaft bears lines from Hylton's poem set among the branches of a willow tree:
"Again beneath that willow tree
We meet as in the days gone by"

Second Floor

N2-1
A number of important images are depicted in Window N2-1. The foreground features various spelling of "Pennsauken" sourced from early maps and deeds. Indians that lived near the confluence of the Pennsauken Creek and the Delaware River are represented by a reproduction of an historic image drawn from first hand accounts. The deed which transfered ownership of  Petty's Island to Elizabeth Kinsey bears the signature marks of 4 indian chiefs. The curve of the land in this panel represents the Peashore along the Delaware River. The background includes a map of Pennsauken, Petty's Island is featured in the upper right corner.

N2-3

As you ascend the stairs from the second to the third floor you will pass Window N2-2 & N2-3. They depict images from the history of the Peashore and reference some of the industries that developed along the Delaware River including some of the fishing clubs (below). Old place names from the area's history are featured in the background.

N2-5

Windows N2-4 & N2-5 are visible from the second level elevator shaft. They depict silhouettes of shad - a motif from the platform windscreens and these romantic lines from Hylton's poem:
"In dreams I meet thee on that shore
and cull the fragrant flowers for thee"
